Elder Chima Onyekwere
A graduate of University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Masters from University of Maryland University College. Other professional qualifications Fellow Nigeria Computer Society of Nigeria (FNCS) alumnus of Harvard Business School (OPM), Chairman of Linkserve Board and Chairman BOT of NiRA. Trustee of Nigeria Internet Group. Director of several companies. Former Consultant to NCC.
Technology Entrepreneur, ICT personality of the year, Titan Award etc. Awarded Knight and Federal Government of Nigeria National Award recipient Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Muhammed Rudman
Muhammed Rudman is the pioneer Chief Executive Officer, Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), Nigeria’s first and only neutral IXP. A veteran IT professional with over 19 years of extensive experience in network design, implementation, optimization and operations. Before joining IXPN, Rudman had worked with several organizations in technical and managerial capacity including Galaxy IT & T Limited, where he facilitated the deployment of rural telephony project (personal handy phone system), Wireless multipoint and point-to-point for broadband access, Earth Stations for Wide Area Network (WAN) using remote VSAT sites across many Nigerian states and West Africa countries.
He is an active member of several professional organizations within and outside the country and has contributed immensely to the development of the ICT sector in Nigeria. He currently serves on the Board of Nigerian Internet Registration Association (.ng ccTLD custodians) as the Executive President.
Rudman is the Chairman of the Nigeria IPv6 Council, the Council is a chapter of the global IPv6 Forum. The Council is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of IPv6 best practices and lessons learned in Nigeria.
He has severally been engaged as a member of various strategic and policy-making committees across the country. Rudman is a member of the National Broadband Council; The Council tasked with the evaluation, review and monitoring of the National Broadband Plan.
Zubaida Rasheed
Mrs. Zubaida M. Rasheed, is a graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – 1981. She joined the services of NITEL in 1983 and rose through the ranks to become the first female Executive Director as the Chief Marketing officer in 2006. Some of her key achievements include the setting up of the new Marketing and Sales Division as the pioneer General Manager and later The Chief Marketing officer; Team member, project implementation team for the introduction of the cellular mobile services into the Nigerian market in the early ‘90s; Economist counterpart in the World Bank feasibility study for the World Bank project in 1988; Involved in the re-structuring of the company under the recent privatisation programme, and the introduction of NITEL new services including IP services, ADSL; Coporate Private Networks; Wireless services and other value added services.
Mrs. Rasheed has attended several developmental courses both locally and internationally. These include: Marketing in The Carrier Environm ent (British Telecom); Marketing Research; The Use of Software for the Calculation of Costs, Tariffs & Rates for Telephone Services (COSITU); ITU Cost Model; Strategic Marketing (CTO, UK) Financial Management for non-Financial Managers; Practical Connectivity of a LAN, WAN & Security System; Alcatel System 12 Digital Switch; Siemens EWSD Operation & Maintenance; Managing Transition for effective Change Implementation; ISP System Operation & Administration [IS5111]; Introduction to CISCO Router Configuration [ICRC]; Telecom Pricing Strategy (Brussels); and several others. She is an Associate Member National Institute of Marketing Nigeria (2005) and a member of Nigerian Institute of Management (2006).
Sunday Afolayan
Sunday Folayan holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Ilorin. He is an Internet Protocol Network Engineer, Cybersecurity Expert, Trainer and Data Wrangler. He was appointed to the Board of IXPN in 2007. He is the Chief Executive Officer of General Data Engineering Services, also known as SKANNET. He was one of the promoters of the Ibadan Internet Exchange point (IBIX), the first exchange point in Nigeria.
He is a member of the Nigeria Cybercrime Advisory Council and the Co-convenor of the Nigeria Network Operators Group (NgNOG). He has served in the past as the Chairman of the AfriNIC, President of NIRA, Board Member of NITDA, and a member of the Interim At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) of ICANN. He is a Priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
Aminu Tijjani
A graduate of Electronics & Communications Engineering from Kano State Polytechnic in 1983 and Kaduna Polytechnic in 1987. Joined the services of Nigerian External Telecommunications (NET) in 1983 and Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) in 1984.
Worked with Honourable Minister of Communications as Special Assistant (Technical) from 1994 to 1995. Rose through the ranks in NITEL up to the position of Deputy General Manager in charge of all projects from 2002 to 2006.
Joined the services of Multi-Links Telecommunications Limited as General Manager (Technical Operations Abuja). Deployed, Operated and Maintained the Abuja Networks from 2006 to 2007.
Transferred to Lagos after Telekom South Africa toke over Multi-Links Telecommunications Limited and held positions as Executive Service Management & Operations, Executive Programme Management Office (Network Roll out), Executive Network Projects Implementation and Regional Executive Northern from 2007 to 2010.
Obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Nasarawa State University Keffi in 2012.
Aminu Tijjani’s career in telecoms spans more than 3 decades. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Clear Clouds Communications Limited Network infrastructure implementation and maintenance company.
Registered with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and attended professional courses with Siemens and Huawei.
Yen Choi
Yen has been a director of IXPN since 2007. He is the chair of the technical committee. Yen has over 25 years of experience in telecommunications, IT, media and software development. He is currently the Group Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President Netcom Africa since 2003, Nigeria’s most prominent Enterprise Network and Managed Services provider. Previously Yen was the Vice President of operations of Speedcast, a global satellite communications company. He is an active board member and advisor to several technology companies globally.
Yen has an MBA with specialization in finance and accounting from the University of Liverpool.
